The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has set new parking fee rates that have come into effect from August 1.

Accordingly the parking fees for bicycles, motorbikes and electric bikes will fall under three groups.

Group 1 will cover schools and hospitals; Group 2 will cover markets, supermarkets, apartment blocks of Grade III and IV, shops and headquarters of organizations.

Group 3 will include apartment blocks of Grade I and II, amusement and entertainment areas, hotels, restaurants, dance halls, theatres and commercial centers.

The fee rate will fall between VND500-2,000 for bicycles and electric bikes during daytime and VND1,000-4,000 in nighttime, depending on group.

Motorbikes with capacity of less than 175cc will be charged VND2,000-4,000 in daytime and VND3,000-5,000 at nighttime.

Motorbikes from 175cc and higher will pay VND3,000-5,000 in daytime and VND4,000-6,000 at nighttime.

These rates will not apply for administrative organs and parking lots that are not licensed from the city budget.

The parking fee rates for automobiles will be divided into two areas. Area 1 will cover Districts 1, 3, and 5; Area 2 will cover the remaining Districts.

Cars of less than ten seats will pay VND20,000 in daytime and VND40,000 at nighttime in Districts 1, 3, 5. In other districts they will pay VND15,000 in daytime and VND30,000 in nighttime.

For automobiles of more than ten seats, the fee rate will be VND25,000 in Area 1 during daytime and VND50,000 at nighttime.

In other districts, the fee will be VND20,000 in daytime and VND40,000 at nighttime, which period is from 9pm to 5am.
