PM asks medical sector to curb measles spreading

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung sent a dispatch to concerned ministries, agencies and local governments to concentrate on fighting measles plaguing the North.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung sent a dispatch to concerned ministries, agencies and local governments to concentrate on fighting measles plaguing the North.

The Prime Minister asked the Ministry of Health to aid district medical clinics in treating the disease. He does not want any more cases of children dying due to spread in overcrowded hospitals.

The ministry was asked to provide breathing machines and medicine. There will be a new policy for medical workers in hospitals. The ministry should properly record and update the development of the disease.

The Prime Minister requested municipal and provincial chairpersons in people’s committees to help the medical sector and urge medical clinics to provide vaccination to children and people with high risk. Chairpersons will allocate expense to medical clinics for measles prevention.

The Ministry of Information and Communication and mass media should update the information of the disease, how to discover and prevent, and the importance of vaccines.

The Ministry of Finance is asked to allocate expenditure to the medical sector.
