One more people die in dialysis incident in Hoa Binh hospital

Director of the Department of Health in the northern province of Hoa Binh Tran Quang Khanh yesterday said that one more patient in a dialysis incident in Hoa Binh Hospital died.

45 year old woman, Nguyen Thi Bich Nguyet, could not be moved to Hanoi-based Bach Mai Hospital as other victims because of her critical condition in the incident. 

Leading medical experts from Bach Mai Hospital were sent to Hoa Binh and they worked around the clock to save her life. However, their efforts were unrewarded because her organs were failed.

Police were quick to arrive at the hospital for examining the corpse which was later given back to her relatives for burial.

The dialysis incident in Hoa Binh Hospital killed seven patients in one day last week. The Medical Examination and Treatment Department under the Ministry of Health ordered hospitals in provinces and cities to reorganize dialysis process.
