Experts share updates on prevention, control of infections

Some 1,500 experts in the field of infection management from 31 nations gathered at the 9th International Asia Pacific Society of Infection Control (APSIC) Congress in Vietnam yesterday, exchanging updates on prevention and control of infections.

The 9th International Asia Pacific Society of Infection Control (APSIC) Congress was held firstly in the central City of Da Nang, the beautiful beach city of Vietnam.
APSIC organized twice a year aims to create a forum where physicians and experts in the Asia and the world to share their knowledge of infection management.
The event was a chance for Vietnamese doctors to get access to the information in their field as well as Vietnam can share their experience in controlling infections.
Head of the Ministry of Health’s Examination and Treatment Department Professor Luong Ngoc Khue said that patients’ safety and infection controlling in medical institutions are top priority in Vietnam and in the world.
Vietnamese Ministry of Health has adopted various policies and action program to enhance infection management in medical facilities for years.
Thereby, APSIC 2019 was a chance where scientists, policy-makers and medical workers from associations in the Asia-Pacific region and in the globe to meet and share their experience in the field especially in control over emerging diseases and contagious diseases or infection-relating diseases, Professor Khue stressed.
