Health Ministry warns of possibility of entry of bird flu from China

The Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health yesterday published information of bird flu in China, warning of the possibility of entry of the disease into Vietnam.

According to the World Health Organization's latest information, China recorded two more fresh bird flu cases in cities Shengzhou and Hangzhou of Zhejiang province within two recent months, 4 cases of A/H7N9 were detected in the province lately who all directly contacted with infected waterfowl.

WHO said that since 2013 to now, 575 A/H7N9 cases in the globe have been reported and 556 cases are living in China. Worse, all infected people in Malaysia and Canada said that they have just come back from China.
 
The Ministry of Health said that Vietnam has not recorded any cases of A/H7N9; yet Vietnam has long border with China; the risk of it being introduced into Vietnam was relatively high. In addition, and migratory waterfowl are heading south for the winter.

Subsequently, Vietnam authority must implement measures to prevent the entry of bird flu virus into the country.
