The campaign aims to mobilize residents to consume products of companies that well perform environmental protection and promote the community’s role in building a healthy competitive environment for green firms.

At the launching ceremony, businesses, hundreds of activists and customers pressed their fingerprints, committing to consume green products.

Activities on the sideline of the event were guiding consumers to make recycled items, a discount program for green products, a painting contest for children, and a game competition on smart phones to receive green presents.

The HCMC Department of Natural Resources and Environment on the same day kicked off a meeting to support the World Environment Day.

Environmental pollution reduction was one of six key programs of the city in the phase of 2011-2015, said the department’s deputy director Nguyen Van Phuoc.

After the meeting, activists rode bicycles along and tidy up streets in Phu Nhuan district and propagate the campaign to local people.
