At the meeting, the two sides highly appreciated the positive developments between United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

According to the United Arab Emirates Ambassador, Vietnam is a beautiful country and Ho Chi Minh City has a huge potentiality to develop tourism.

Besides that, he agreed with the city leader that the potential cooperation between two sides is huge but the tourism promotion of Vietnam to UAE is still limited. So, Mr. Obaid Saeed Al Dhaheri desired an increase of direct flights between two countries to promote tourists from UAE to Vietnam and vice versa.

He also expected cooperation between tourism and trade agencies to introduce Ho Chi Minh City as a destination of the Southeast Asia.

In response to the UAE Ambassador, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong said that Ho Chi Minh City is currently calling for international investments in fields of urban infrastructure, smart city, sea port and renewable energy to build the city as a trade center in the region.

Chairman Phong also committed that city would have the detailed policies to lure investors from the Middle East; and he suggested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of UAE to open the Consulate General Office as well as some representative offices of trade and tourism in the city and other localities, aiming to create new cooperation opportunities between two parties.

Although the trade turnover between two countries hit US$ 276 million but it is also not commensurate with their potential cooperation.

With role of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong believed that the potential cooperation between two sides will be strengthened and more and more developed.
