HCM City’s government asks to improve festivals’ quality

Tran Vinh Tuyen, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, has asked functional departments to work with relevant agencies to increase the quality of cultural and tourism events that will be organized in the city from now until the year-end.

The local authorities will focus on ensuring the public security and order, food safety and hygiene for visitors coming to HCM City, he stressed at the working session on August 22.
As schedule, the city will organize large-scale events, such as HCMC International kylin-lion and dragon dance festival on September 23-24; Fashionology Festival 2017 on October 20-22, HCMC International Marathon 2017 on November 23-26; and “Taste of the World” culinary festival.
The first-ever event , “Fashionology Festival 2017” featuring a conection between fashion and technology will also be launched in Nguyen Hue walking street.
As planned, the Nguyen Hue walking street will be turned into a 670m-long catwalk for fashion shows. About 300 models will present collections by 40 Vietnamese and international designers. More than 100 domestic garment-textile businesses will participate in the event that is expected to attract over 500,000 visitors.
The event will also include shopping area, exhibition, dance performance with real-time 3D facial projection mapping, spectacular water music performance and more. The municipal authorities hope the festival will become an annual tourism event to draw more domestic and foreign tourists to HCM City.
