One more elementary school to be built in Con Dao Island

One more elementary school will be built in Con Dao Island to meet students’ learning demand.

The People’s Committee in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau has just approved Con Dao Elementary School construction project in the area of more than 5,063 square meters. The VND54.7 billion ($2,345,000) school will have 21 classrooms to admit 600-650 children.
In the academic year 2018-2019, Elementary School Cao Van Ngoc with 18 classrooms enrolled 804 elementary children, causing overcrowdedness. Therefore, the new school is hoped to reduce pressure for the junior high school.
The People’s Committee in Con Dao Island district of the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau inaugurated the school building named after the late Party General Secretary Le Hong Phong in the end of 2018. The school costs over VND154 billion ($6,606,773) from the province’s state budget and support of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.
At present, Con Dao district has five schools comprising two kindergartens, one elementary school, one junior high school and one senior high school.
