Hanoi signs education cooperation agreement with New Zealand

Hanoi signed an agreement to promote bilateral co-operation in the field of education with New Zealand last week.
Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung and New Zealand Minister of Finance, Sports and Recreation Grant Robertson signed the agreement to develop bilateral relation in education between the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and its New Zealand peer.
Under the agreement, both sides will jointly develop the capacity-strengthening framework in various fields, including training program for students, scholarships for studying abroad as well as intensify the co-operation amongst educational institutions in Vietnam and New Zealand.
Moreover, according to the agreement, there will be professional trainings for teachers and managing officers in institutions.
In the period of 2016-2018, the number of Vietnamese students in New Zealand increased 30 percent, compared to the previous time. In 2018, nearly 3,000 Vietnamese students studied in the ‘Land of Kiwi’.
