First three-year school receives ABET accreditation

The oldest vocational school in Southern Vietnam Cao Thang Technical College received the ABET accreditation which provides assurance that a college or university program meets the quality standards of the profession for which that program prepares graduates.

Vice Principal Dr. Le Dinh Kha said that the school’s effort was rewarded as it received the accreditation under ABET for two programs Mechanical Engineering Technology and Electrical-Electronics Engineering Technology.
Students of the two program will receive comprehensive training of knowledge, skill, and attitude to meet the high demand of labor market. Besides, they will take part in academic activities. With globally accredited degree, students will have more employment opportunity in multinational companies.
Before, the HCMC University of Technology also received ABET-accredited two programs.
Cao Thang Technical College, formally called Asian Engineering School, was one of the first vocational schools in Southern Vietnam. The school was established on February 20, 1906 in accordance with the decision from the Governor General of Indochina. The school changed its name to Cao Thang Technical School in July 1956.
The school upgraded to Cao Thang Technical College on October 19, 2004. The school has had a great honor to be the place where two Vietnam’s Presidents Ho Chi Minh President Ton Duc Thang studied in the 1910s when they were young.
