The A-list singer will team up with Vietnam’s leading rock band Ngu Cung (Pentatonic) during a special music performance to bid farewell to 2016 and welcome the New Year.

Some of Linh’s hits, which include the ones written by her composer husband Anh Quan, are Sac Mau (The Colours), and Huong Ngoc Lan (The Scent of Magnolia), will get a refreshing turn when they are remixed in rock style.

Along with Linh, divo Tung Duong is expected to surprise audiences when he also performs his 2012 hit Chiếc Khăn Piêu (The Piêu Ethnic Scarf) in rock style.

Duong and Linh will sing a duet to present the song Ngau Hung Song Hong (Red River Impromptu).
Rocker Kasim Hoang Vu will also take part in the show to stir up the atmosphere of the evening.

Earlier, a line-up of young singers and music bands will gather to offer a special repertoire, which depicts Hanoi in the past and nowadays.

According to the concert’s director Hoang Cong Cuong, in the first 30 minutes of the program, the audience will have a glimpse of Hanoi through songs, which mentions the city’s culinary delights, culture and history.

While songstress Hoa Minzi will perform An Gi Day? (What to Eat?), which is about the culture of street food in the capital, the duo Thùy Chi and Đinh Mạnh Ninh will croon about the vitality of the city.
“We have invited only young singers, who are favorites of the Vietnamese youth, to perform in this segment, as they will present a fresh image of a new Hanoi,” Cường said.

The images of the historical Old Quarter, the symbolic Hoan Kiem Lake, or scholars in traditional dress writing calligraphy, young women wearing charming conical hats, will be presented through several dances.

Top World’s 100 DJs, inspired DJ and producer Gerben Brouwer from the Netherlands will blow the mind of the audience by his beats, which focus on deep and tech house, EDM and progressive house.
Heart throbs Noo Phuoc Thinh and Rocker Nguyen will add a bit of wildness to the countdown party with their most downloaded songs.

The stunning stage, which is adorned by a modern led matrix screen, will offer the visual effects for party-goers.

About 10,000 people are expected to join the party which will take place in the square in front of the Thong Nhat Park’s main entrance on Tran Nhan Tong Street. The city’s brewery Habeco will offer free drinks for attendees during a limited period.

Tourists and local residents can join another countdown party at the Ly Thai To Square by the Hoàn Kiếm Lake. Apart from a feast of music and lighting, the party will feature several in-vogue singers, including Ho Ngoc Ha, My Tam, Toc Tien, Son Tung-MTP.

Several public stages across the city will also present art performances during the night.
Special TV New Year Concert

Since months, the Vietnam Television (VTV) has prepared intensively to produce a special art performance for the New Year.

To be broadcast on TV screens tonight, at 8.15pm, the program features most of the big names of the Vietnamese music industry.

In the show, duo Thu Phuong – Ai Phuong sing the track Toi Thay Hoa Vang Tren Co Xanh (Yellow Flowers on Green Grass) from the box-office hit movie of the same name, and Phương Linh presents the folk tune-inspired Đào Liễu (Peach & Willow).

Divo Duong performs the famous hit One Moment in Time of Whitney Houston, while beautiful songstress Ho Ngoc Ha, who is three-quarters French, stages some French romantics such as Je t’aime and Paroles.
