Mostly produced by private film studios, more than ten films such as Ao Lua Ha Dong (Ha Dong silk dress), Sai Gon Nhat Thuc (Saigon Eclipse), Dong Mau Anh Hung (Heroic Blood) are shot in 2006 nationwide. Anyhow, only three films namely Trai nhay (Taxi-male dancers), Chuong reo la ban (Fire as the bell rings!) and Vo Lam Truyen Ky (Swordsman) will be screened in the Tet (lunar New Year).

After wining the Audience Award at the 11th Pusan International Film Festival in the Republic of Korea, Ao Lua Ha Dong has been promoted in foreign countries. Sai Gon Nhat Thuc (Saigon Eclipse) and Dong Mau Anh Hung (Heroic Blood) sought to enter the US market.
The movie Trai nhay (Dancing-boys) with an investment of more than VND3.5 billion by the Thien Ngan film studio will make its debut on February 9.
“Last year's Vietnamese market for movies made big changes with the number of cinema audiences increasing 20-25%, and local- and foreign-produced films on screen increasing 25-30% year on year”. Director of Thien Ngan film studio Tran Vu said.
Meanwhile Vo Lam Truyen Ky (Swordsman) produced by the Phuoc Sang film studio has been sent to Hong Kong for its last revising before screening.
Chuong reo la ban (Fire as the bell rings) at the cost of over VND1 billion of the Giai Phong Film Studio will be screened on February 13.
Tet is the lucrative entertainment season, especially for Vietnamese films. The movies market with only three films on the big screen in the coming Tet makes film producers feel at ease, director of the Giai Phong Film Studio Thai Hoa added.
