Preservation construction of Can Tho’s revolutionary base kicked off

The People’s Committee of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on October 4 organized a groundbreaking ceremony for preservation construction of the Lo Vong Cung (Arc-shaped Road ) revolutionary base in My Khanh commune, Phong Dien district.

The work covering on an area of 65,000 m2 is expected to be completed in 2020 with a capital of VND 99 billion.
The construction includes main facilities, such as courtyard, a 2-storey temple, guest hall, exhibition room, a monument commemorating those who fell in a fight to protect the country.
The Lo Vong Cung has a total length of 30 kilometers connecting National Highway 1A and Phong Dien district. It served as a military road during the resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, especiallly the General Tet Offensive in the spring of 1968 and Ho Chi Minh Campaign in 1975.
The road that saw a lot of sacrifices is now a strategic and important transport route in Can Tho city.
