“B’lao silk and tea” gala night opens in Bao Loc City

The “B’lao silk and tea” gala night promoting B'Lao tea brand and Bao Loc Silk took place in Bao Loc City, the central highland province of Lam Dong on December 25.

The event is part of the “Week of Tea and Silk Culture” program honoring local tea and silk industry of Bao Loc Town that is being held from December 23-27.
On this occasion, the provincial authorities handed over the Certificate for using the trademarks “B’Lao tea”and “Bao Loc silk” to 8 enterprises of tea and silk cultivation, processing and production in the province.
The “Week of Tea and Silk Culture” is part of the activities of the 7th Da Lat Flower festival which is scheduled for December 23-27.
Main programs will take place during the week, including tea leaves picking contest, seminar on the development of the tea and silk industry and ethnic minority embroidery related to the development of high-tech agriculture; fashion performance of silk-made products and more.
Visitors will have a chance to enjoy an exhibition on famous brands of silk garment; visit tea growing areas; and learn about tea processing, silk manufacturing process.
Lam Dong has currently more than 21,000 hectares of tea, including 6,300 hectares for high-tech agricultural zone ; and its productivity reached around 234,656 tones in 2017, accounting for 30 percent of the total output of tea in the country.
The province has seen over 5,200 hectares of Silk Worm Farming and cultivation. The total production of silk in Lam Dong is more than 5,000 tons per year. The province has exported silk fabrics to Japan, the U.S., India, European countries, Thailand, Laos, Bangladesh and others.
