The campaign is co-organized by Saigon Giai Phong newspaper, the HCM City Department of Industry and Trade, and supermarket chain  Saigon Co.op.

The campaign is designed to further promote the “Vietnamese people use Vietnamese products” program, as well as green technology and green products.

Saigon Giai Phong editor-in chief Tran The Tuyen spoke about the role of the Green Consumption Campaign, and emphasized the “Green Enterprise Awards” co-held by the newspaper, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the city People’s Committee since 2006.

The aim of the “Green Enterprise Awards” is to encourage industrial companies to care for the environment and honor enterprises observing the law on environmental protection.

The steering committee of the “Green Enterprise Awards” also released handbooks of green products to consumers after the launching ceremony.

City Deputy Chairman Nguyen Trung Tin joined the event together with representatives of the city departments, organizations, enterprises and thousands of people.
