Vietnam’s rice export jumps 44 percent

According to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Vietnam's rice export revenue reached US$1.84 billion in the first six months, up 44 percent from a year earlier.

Vietnam’s rice price is higher than price of Thailand, Pakistan and India from US$50-100 per ton.
Vietnam’s export turnover gained US$114 billion in the first half of this year, presenting a year-on-year increase of 16 percent.
The export turnover of the State-owned enterprise sector was estimated at US$33 billion, increased 20 percent compared with the same period last year. Meanwhile the export turnover of the area of foreign-invested enterprise rose 14.5 percent.
The export commodity structure showed also positive signs in accordance with the Action Plan of the Strategy on exports and imports for 2011-2020, with a vision to 2030.
Accordingly, exports of mineral products has decreased, accounting for 1.9 percent of the total export revenue.
Export proportions of the processing and manufacturing industry, and agricultural and fishery products rose respectively 11.8 percent and 81.9 percent.
