The agreement will ensure a stable supply of cotton for Viet Nam from the US.
The US is the world’s largest cotton producer, with an expected output of over 3.2 million tons this year, and supplies 30 percent of Viet Nam’s imports.
Vietnam has been among the top five textile and garment exporters to the US for the last three years. Last year its exports were worth US$4.29 billion.
It expects this to rise to $5.4 billion this year.
