New Zealand helps to increase dragon fruit value

A $5.6 million project helping to increase dragon fruit value funded by the New Zealand Aid Program has been fruitful.

The news was announced at a national-level meeting on the successful commercialization of premium fruit varieties held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and New Zealand Embassy recently in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Southern Fruit Research Institute said that the project implemented since 2013 has improved farming methods for dragon fruit and less usage of chemicals.
Moreover, the program has developed new post-harvest washing and cooling techniques that have reduced fruit damage and extended shelf life.
