Farmers propose increasing support in restructuring agricultural economics

Several farmers proposed to borrow money as unsecured loans instead of secured loans and interest rate needs to be approved monthly instead of quarterly as currently at the dialogue with the Ho Chi Minh City government, themed ‘Policy to support the restructuring of agricultural economics: reality and solutions’, held by the People’s Council of HCMC in association with the Voice of HCMC’s People on November 30.
They also asked for permission to build facilities, including net houses and warehouses for high-tech agricultural models.

At the dialogue, Mr. Cao Thanh Binh, deputy head of the Economic and Budgetary Department of the city’s People's Council, said that many models, complexes and cooperatives were still small with economic efficiency remaining low, failing to attract enterprises and investors to invest in agriculture and preliminary processing areas. Accessing to capital for production and farming still faced several difficulties. The duration of loan interest support for aqua-farming cycle was too short.
