Korean, Japanese enterprises visit HCMC

Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan welcomed a delegation from Korea’s Gimpo city led by Mayor of the Gimpo city Yoo Young Rok on October 29.

The businessmen want to learn about environment as well as attractive investment opportunities in Ho Chi Minh City, one of the largest financial hubs of the country.

Chairman Le Hoang Quan appreciated the Korean businessmen’s great contribution to  Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

In addition, the chairman also hoped that the businessmen will catch investment opportunities in the city. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has attracted over 1000 projects of Korean businessmen with the total capital of USD five billion.

At the meeting, the mayor Yoo Young Rok hoped that new cooperative opportunities between two countries will be developed further in the coming years after the visit.

On the same day, Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan also received a delegation from Saitama province (Japan) led by Governor Kiyoshi Ueda.

The visit aims to strengthen economic cooperation between Saitama and Ho Chi Minh City.

In October, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed more than 50 Japanese delegations and enterprises interested in doing business in Ho Chi Minh City. Through this vist, the city authorities hoped that HCMC will continue to receive interests as well as attract more and more Japanese investors in general and enterprises from Saitama province in particular.

Currently, as many as 59 Japan’s leading companies from Saitama have invested in Vietnam, including Canon, Honda, said the chairman Le Hoang Quan.
