ACT tests to be applied in schools in HCMC

Standardized test prep ACT will be one of two tests in teaching mathematics and science subjects in English in some primary schools and junior high school in Ho Chi Minh City.

The municipal Department of Education and Training signed an agreement with the non-profit organizations in the United States ACT and EMG Education Company on June 15 to recognize ACT test as an official test. 

Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Hong Son said that  ACT is one of two tests, applied for teaching and learning mathematics and science subjects  in English, which has been implementing in primary and secondary schools in the city.
To date, after three year implementation, 12,000 students in 400 primary schools and secondary schools have studied the program.

Before, the Department had ever signed an agreement with the UK’s Pearson Education which prepare test for teaching and learning of subjects in English. Accordingly, the agreement with ACT is considered one of efforts to expand cooperation with international organizations and improve teaching and learning quality with the aim to give students and parents more options. 

ACT test is one of leading tests recognized in universities in the US and over 200 colleges and higher education facilities in different nations such as British, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
