Pregnant woman suffering accident in private clinic dies

A pregnant woman getting convulsion and brain damage after being examined at a private clinic died yesterday despite of effort by doctors at Hanoi-based Bach Mai Hospital.

A pregnant woman getting convulsion and brain damage after being examined at a private clinic died yesterday despite of effort by doctors at Hanoi-based Bach Mai Hospital.

Her family expressed their desire that health authorities and police to clarify the cause of the woman’s death after receiving treatment at private polyclinic 168 Hanoi on March 5.

After being informed of the incident, the Ministry of Health asked the Department of Health in Hanoi to set up a scientific council to clarify the cause of the incident. Additionally, police and health authorities must summon a Chinese doctor who provided treatment to the pregnant woman to writer detailed report of treatment procedure.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked the Ministry of Health to probe the case and send its report to the PM before March 14.
