The number of overseas Vietnamese returning home for Tet in mid February is expected to be in excess of 500,000, according to the State Committee for overseas Vietnamese.

The recovering global economy and various traditional festivals could be attributed to the positive forecast.

In recent years, an average of 450,000-500,000 out of 4 million overseas Vietnamese came back to Vietnam for Tet.
